Long Island school elections, 2020-2021

School district residents are voting by absentee ballot on budgets and members of their local boards for 2020-2021.

PRINT SHARE

School district residents would normally be going to the polls on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, to vote on budgets and members of their local boards for the coming school year. However, due to coronavirus concerns, all voting is by absentee mail only, and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has extended the date to submit ballots by a week, to Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Many districts anticipate the count will take longer than usual, due to the mass use of absentee ballots. We will update this page as we get results.

To read more about how the pandemic is affecting voting, read our story.

And to learn more about individual districts or the schools within them, visit Newsday's Long Island Schools database, where you can compare enrollments, test results, graduation rates, past elections, etc.
